Q: How did you get involved with the Oswald brand?
A: I was put in touch with Jess, the founder of Oswald, through a friend as I was looking to purchase some clothing for myself and some horsewear. Following on from that, Jess and I formed a great friendship and work relationship that led me to becoming an Oswald ambassador, which I am very grateful for.
Q: If you weren't playing polo what would you like to be doing?
A: To be completely honest, I do not know, polo has been part of my life since day one; through family and friends there has always been something polo related going on. All I know is that if I were to not be playing polo I would definitely still be part of the sport, one way or another.
Q: Who is your best pony?
A: A little chestnut mare of mine called Estrella, I purchased her from Malcolm Borwick last season and she is from the Bargallo breed in Argentina; she went straight to the top of my list! She just tries her heart out every time she plays.
Q: What players inspire you the most?
A: I would say my style of play has changed dramatically in the last couple of months. I've always been inspired by a close family friend of mine, James Harper, and ore recently have been trying to improve my game by watching and listening to players like James and Tommy Beresford. I find Tommy inspiring because of what he has achieved at his age all across the world.
Q: What are your interests outside of polo?
A: I don't have many, as I am very rarely 'outside' of polo, however, I do enjoy playing golf at my local club in Cowdray and just everything horse-related. I find learning about people's breeding programmes very interesting as well.
Q: What is your most played song on Spotify right now?
A: Maps - Maroon 5
Q: What is one bit of advice you would give your younger self?
A: I would tell myself to just keep going, there's going to be days where things don't go your way - keep your head up and take every opportunity that comes. And remember, that any advice is good advice.
Q: What are your plans for next season?
A: I'm currently in Australia (at the time of writing) and plan to be here until the English season starts. I have lots of polo and new ventures lined up for next year so I am very excited for the 2024 season to commence!
Q:What would you like to achieve in the next five years?
My goals for the next five years are to just keep enjoying the sport and improving as much as possible! I'm always pushing my limits to try and go up in handicap and I take every opportunity to play better polo and at the highest level possible. I'm also very much driving to improve my string of horses every year - for any player to improve personally, it starts with reinvesting in horses and being as well mounted as possible.
My favourite items of clothing from the Oswald collection are the Husky Coat and Hampton Hoodie. The Husky is perfect for the classic English weather, it's comfortable, waterproof and perfect to work in, as well as any other occasion! I also love the Hampton hoodie, as it's a bit smarter than a standard hoodie, and the quality is incredible. It is the best hoodie I've got in my wardrobe.
My favourite horsewear items are the Gallop turnout rugs. They are affordable and of top quality. I've had mine for multiple seasons and they are still to this day keeping my horses protected from the weather.
