OSWALD FOUNDER

Q: How did you get involved with the Oswald brand?

A: I have been involved since the early days when Oswald's founder, Jess, decided to expand from team shirts to offering a full collection of polo teamwear. We were based at the same club and I saw how driven Jess was to create the best brand in polo and I was keen to support her on this venture.

Q: What is your best polo memory?

A: Winning the Manipur International in India with the UK team, in a stadium of thousands of spectators. The match was also shown live on TV throughout India. Another great memory I have is this past season in the UK, playing three important matches in one day and winning all three!

Q: What is your earliest polo memory?

A: I started out goal judging at Woolmers Park in Hertfordshire when I was about 11 years old and I remember thinking polo was the coolest thing I had ever seen and I was desperate to try it. Since then I have never stopped!

Q: What is your favourite country to play in?

A: I do love playing abroad and I have been lucky enough to play in India, Argentina, France, China and Australia, but my favourite country to play in is the UK. For the main three months of the UK polo season, I would not want to be anywhere else.

Q: Where do you source your ponies from?

A: I source my ponies from all over, but I like to buy from people I know or with a good reputation. I vet the person selling the horse as much as the horse I am buying.

Q: If you were on "Come Dine With Me" what would be on your menu?

A: I'd start with an antipasti of hams, salami and olives. For main, I'd make my famous spaghetti carbonara and for dessert, a cheese board is always a winner!

Q: What is one thing people don't know about you?

A: I was in the film Les Miserables as one of the horse riders in the battle scenes and also I have shared the polo field with Prince Harry.

Q: What is your drink of choice?

A: When writing this I have just done a month without drinking, but my favourite drink would be a Bloody Mary, quite spicy.

Q: What is one bit of advice you would give your younger self?

A: Don't be afraid to take risks and move out of your comfort zone.

Q: What are your plans for next year?

A: I am playing in India in January, February-April in Argentina and then back to the UK for a busy season of mainly 4-12 goal.

My favourite two items of clothing from the Oswald collection are the Husky padded coat and the Williamsburg Hoodie.

My favourite horsewear items from Oswald are all my turnout rugs!
